The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved
The man who cant be moved video is a typical script video enhancing the real world and real life situation/problems into their music.
Andrew Goodwin (1992)
Andrew Goodwin argues that in music videos 'narrative relations are highly complex' and meaning can be created from the individual audio viewers musical personal taste to sophiscated intertextuality that uses multidiscursive phenomena of western culture. Many are dominated by advertising references, film pastiche and reinforce the postmodern 're-use' tradition.
Blink 182 supported this arguement when they parody'd a backstreet boys video. They were trying to say beauty shouldnt be perceptuated and therefore shown their own take on music video.

Michael Shore (1984)
Michael Shore argues that music videos are:
recycled styles, surface without substance, simulated experience, information overload, images ands style scavengers, ambivalence, decandence, immediate gratification, vanity and the moment, the death of content, adolescent male fantasies, speed power girls wealth.
style over content helps sell music singles.

Katie Domaile
Katie Domaile suggested that they are only 8 narrative types that each have a source, an original story which bthe others are based. these stories/narrative types are:
-Archilles: the fatal flow that leads to the destruction of the previously flawless person e.g. superman
-Circe: innocent and the victim e.g. terminator
-Faust: selling your soul to the devil e.g. bedazzled
-Candicle: the indomitable hero who cant be put down e.g. Indiana jones
-Cinderella: the dream comes true e.g. pretty woman
-Orpheus: the loss of something personal e.g. sixth sense
-Romeo & Juliet: love story e.g. Titanic
-Tristan & iseult: the love triangle e.g. Casablanca
Music videos also have narratives e.g. the script-nothing, would fit into the tristan & iseult narrative type.
